Top 7 Men's Shave Gels and Creams

By

I am always trying new things to review and recommend so you never know what I'm testing out on any given day. But when it comes to shaving, I am extremely particular since I have sensitive skin and am prone to razor burn. I am keen on products that soothe my sensitive skin while helping me achieve a close shave. Through trial and error, I have narrowed my favorite shave gels and creams down to these seven products.

1. The Body Shop Maca Root Shave Cream

Just when I thought I couldn't experience a closer shave, I came across Maca Root Shave Cream by The Body Shop. Normally I'm not a fan of shave creams since they tend to clog up my razor and don't provide a close shave like gels can. But my opinion changed once I tried this unique shave cream which slightly foams up. This formula of maca root, essential oils and aloe gives me the closest shave I have ever experienced, without razor burn or irritation. It's nothing short of amazing.

The Body Shop has been around for more than 30 years and is known for using natural ingredients from all over the world. These sustainably harvested ingredients are procured via fair trade programs. The company also uses 100% post consumer recycled packaging.

2. ZIRH Shave Gel

ZIRH's clear, non-foaming Aloe Vera based shave gel is one of my favorite products. I always have some on hand. With this slick shave gel, it's easy avoid irritating your skin and razor burn. Extremely concentrated formula - one jar should last 3 - 4 months.

Zirh (pronounced zûr) is a leading manufacturer of high end men's care products with an emphasis on quality ingredients and is manufactured by Shiseido, one of the best skin care companies in the world.

3. Jack Black Beard Lube Conditioning Shave

I love the Jack Black Beard Lube because it soothes my sensitive skin while it helps me achieve a close shave. If you like shave gels, this one is awesome. It's lightweight without oiliness or heaviness.

Jack Black is a line of high performance shaving, skin care, sun protection and grooming products designed exclusively for men. The unique combination of authentic ingredients and original technology offer men real solutions that go beyond soap and water. Nothing complicated, nothing cosmetic. Just superior products designed with guys in mind.

4. The Art of Shaving Unscented Shaving Cream

It you prefer shave creams, this is a great one. It protects the skin from irritation and razor burn using glycerin, coconut oil and essential oils. I have found many shave creams to be heavy and clog up my razor, but I think you will find this product won't do that. It can be lathered up with a shaving brush or with your fingers.

The Art of Shaving has become the best-selling men’s brand at high-end department stores. The company's philosophy combines Eastern medicine and Aromatherapy resulting in the combination of botanical ingredients and pure essential oils.

5. Anthony Logistics For Men Shave Gel

This is another Aloe Vera based shave gel which is green, not clear like ZIRH, and has a mild pleasant scent. I love shave gels since they make shaving sensitive skin easier and adds extra glide and moisture.

Anthony Logistics For Men is a botanical based skincare, bath and body product line designed specifically for men. And you can't beat this - a percentage of Anthony Logistics proceeds is donated to charities in support of the Fight Against Prostate Cancer.

6. MenScience Advanced Shave Formula

MenScience Advanced Shave Formula provides super-slick, foamless lubrication. I have spent a lot of time getting to know MenScience products and have come to learn that they are specifically formulated to help soothe and prevent razor burn and redness, perhaps more than most brands. This shave formula uses natural antiseptic properties to combat ingrown hairs and clogged pores as well.

Menscience is a relatively new brand which provides a full line of grooming and skincare products developed for men. They use dermatological-grade ingredients and have been featured in just about every major men's magazine.

7. Ole Henriksen Clean Shave

If you like a foaming shave gel you might check this product out. It's formulated with natural ingredients such as aloe vera, chamomile, eucalyptus, and cucumber which are ideal for sensitive skin and skin irritation.

Ole Henriksen isn't just a company bust a person too. He is from Denmark and studied cosmetic chemistry and eventually developed a high end line of products which were at one time exclusive to big name celebrities. The products are made with pure, natural ingredients.
