If you can imagine what immigrants pouring into Ellis Island during the twenties and thirties looked like then you have just captured the essence of John Varvatos' fall 2006 collection. Gorgeous, rugged fabrics and saturated colors also contributed to the theme. Of course cuts were more modern as you might expect from the label. Outerwear pieces were some of the strongest aspects of the collection as well as the knits, which were masculine and refined. The Star USA collection, Varvatos' less expensive, more youthful line, was shown after the signature collection. It has a slimmer, trimmer and more casual look. See for yourself.
