A Thrifty Way To Buy Designer Duds

About a year ago I discovered a couple of amazing websites that offer deeply discounted designer goods. Although there are other similar sites, the two best sites are Hautelook.com and Gilt.com both of which sell shoes, clothes and accessories for up to 70% off retail prices (and sometimes even more). The sales are for 36 hours only and quantities are limited so things sell out quickly. The trick is to catch the sale when it first begins. Most of the merchandise is from the current season, and all the best designers can be found, including Theory, John Varvatos, Helmut Lang, Ralph Lauren, etc. You need to register and become a member which is free. You will be sent email notifications of upcoming sales and daily reminder emails about what is being featured that day. For those of us who are addicted to designer duds but balk at those hefty price tags, this is the way to go. I have purchased many things from these sites and am very impressed with how fun and easy it to shop (albeit under a little pressure).
