Definition: Houndstooth check (or hound's tooth), is a two-tone pattern of broken checks or abstract four-pointed shapes. This pattern originated in Scotland and is traditionally woven. It's difficult to describe in words so please refer to the photo example. The traditional color combination for the houndstooth pattern is black and white, but you can find it in a wide array of colors.
